Workshop Technician - HGV
We are looking for a HGV vehicle technician to join our busy and well equipment commercial vehicle workshop in Chippenham . The position is for a skilled HGV Mechanic/Technician to work both unsupervised and as part of a team maintaining the company’s fleet of HGV’s & LCV’s. All potential applicants will require some form of qualification in HGV repair and maintenance, and would preferably hold a current HGV licence to allow self-diagnosis and brake tests.
Duties
- Carrying out routine servicing of HGV’s, trailers and LCV’s.
- MOT preparation of HGV’s, trailers and LCV’s
- Conduct PMI’s for HGV’s and Trailers.
- General repairs of all types of heavy commercial vehicles, trailers, LCV’s and some items of plant.
- Completion of all paperwork relevant to the repairs, maintenance or inspection.
Experience
- Be a qualified or time served HGV Technician
- Be able to undertake all aspects of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair
- Auto Electrical, Welding and hydraulic systems experience would be beneficial but not essential
- IRTEC qualified as approved inspection technician for large commercial vehicles beneficial but not essential
Requirements
- Full & valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points. A full licence check will need to be carried out before any offer is made.
- Proof of right to work in the UK
- Own tools are essential
