• Workshop Technician - HGV

    We are looking for a HGV vehicle technician to join our busy and well equipment commercial vehicle workshop in Chippenham . The position is for a skilled HGV Mechanic/Technician to work both unsupervised and as part of a team maintaining the company’s fleet of HGV’s & LCV’s. All potential applicants will require some form of qualification in HGV repair and maintenance, and would preferably hold a current HGV licence to allow self-diagnosis and brake tests.

    Duties

    • Carrying out routine servicing of HGV’s, trailers and LCV’s.
    • MOT preparation of HGV’s, trailers and LCV’s
    • Conduct PMI’s for HGV’s and Trailers.
    • General repairs of all types of heavy commercial vehicles, trailers, LCV’s and some items of plant.
    • Completion of all paperwork relevant to the repairs, maintenance or inspection.

    Experience

    • Be a qualified or time served HGV Technician
    • Be able to undertake all aspects of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair
    • Auto Electrical, Welding and hydraulic systems experience would be beneficial but not essential
    • IRTEC qualified as approved inspection technician for large commercial vehicles beneficial but not essential

    Requirements

    • Full & valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points. A full licence check will need to be carried out before any offer is made.
    • Proof of right to work in the UK
    • Own tools are essential

    Salary: £41,600 + Overtime
